The event that took the Canadian fishing scene by storm in 2009 was back, bigger and better than ever in 2010. The Berkley B1 Canadian Bass Open, regarded as the most prestigious contest in the competitive fishing scene was held October 2nd & 3rd 2010 in the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield located in Quebec near the Ontario border. It hosted the two-day extravaganza as the best professional anglers in the country ascended onto the pristine waters of Lake St-Francis hoping to be “the 1”. The annual competition attracts the highest profile anglers including icons such as Bob Izumi and Pete Bowman as over 300 fishermen square off for over $130,000 in cash and prizes. The support from both the local Quebec angling community and as far reaching as the shores of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to the northern town of Sault-Ste-Marie, Ontario, anglers everywhere came down to be a part of the Berkley B1 experience.
